Can Plastics Manufacturing be Green?
The answer is yes! And rotational molding is leading the way. Consider:
- Polyethylene is 100% recyclable.
- Resins made from recycled plastic are available in a variety of colors and have structural properties that compare well with virgin resins.
- Rotationally molded parts require no pinch-off or cut-off excess material, so every last particle of raw material that goes into the mold comes back out in the molded part.
- New "Bio-resins" -- plastic material produced from maize and sugar cane instead of oil and gas -- are emerging into the market.
